I have the opportunity to get my hands on a Suzuki Samuri and was wondering if you would allow it on the trails. It is 15″ longer, 3.4″ narrower, and .8″ shorter than the Arctic Cat Wildcat. Just a thought, but wanted to see what you thought. Thanks!Laugh

We have thought about that in the past and do realize they are smaller than most side by sides now. There is only a couple of reasons we havnt wanted jeeps and small suvs. 1, They are much slower than atvs and bikes and think it might cause conjestion in the trails. Not so bad if there is only one vehichle but if there was 4 or 5 in a row it could be tough to pass that group of jeeps. 2. they are much heavier and if we get a lot of jeeps with big tires and what not , they could realy destroy the trails. Once again if there was only a couple people it would be fine , but I think that market would explode and there would be a lot here. Any thoughts? Im open for suggestions on what we could do so if you have any please let me know. Small trucks and jeeps are fun on these trails.

Jim, I had a thought… Possible adding a cost onto the yearly membership for a SUV pass and limit the number of passes per year. That way only yearly members could bring them and you could keep the number down. Also only allowing them on green and pink so if there were a couple on a trail the atvs and bikes could pass them using a blue. There also seems to be plenty of spots on the greens where the SUVs could pull off the trail to let them by. Just a couple of thoughts. I saw that thing for sale and thought of how much fun it would be at your place!!! Thanks for the response!

That’s not a bad idea and it could possibly work. I will have to talk with the others and see what we can come up with.

I think if you limited it to something like 15 passes, you’d probably only have 7 at most at the park at a time, and could be another $1500 towards your equipment and land maintenance. I know personally, that I would still want to bring my quad and bike to rip too, so it wouldn’t be on the trail all day.

JIm, I just bought a Geo Tracker for a winter beater/ summer fun toy… The Samurai deal fell through. Let me know if you make a decision about letting mini-utes on the trails cause I would be the first to sign up! LaughLaughLaugh

I realy don’t see a problem with it as long as you stayed on the green trail where there is less hills. If you had a break down out in the middle of the trails , any idea how you would get it out?

AAA lol… You raise a good question there. Funny story; when I lived in Florida, AAA had a special deal on 4th of July that if you were drunk, they would pick you and your vehicle up for free and take you home. Well, I tested it, 5 miles in the woods on a trail, got wasted and called… They came out and picked me up. The tow truck driver said it was the most fun he had during his job, even had to go through a 3′ deep creek!

LOL that’s funny. How did they know where you were at and how to get there? You know GPS doesn’t pick up the trailhead or the camp driveway here.

The trail actually had a street name because it was part of a development that never got built, they just put the drainage in and cleared the roads. Was an awesome place to go wheelin, but has been shut down do to crime. http://vimeo.com/24251860 Right at the beginning of the video is the creek, it was very low in the video.
